Why an English speaking locksmith matters here

Rental cars, the most common tourist call

The single most frequent call we get from visitors is a rental car with the keys locked inside, or a rental key that has gone missing somewhere between a restaurant and a hotel.

Two useful things to know. First, opening a locked car does not damage it when it is done properly, so you do not automatically owe the rental company for a broken window. Second, if the key is genuinely lost, a replacement can usually be cut and programmed on the spot rather than waiting for the rental company to send one from another city.

Our base is on Boulevard Jane Sandanski in Aerodrom, so the southeast of the city is fastest. The city centre, where most visitors stay, is usually 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and parking access.

What it costs

The price depends on what is locked, what time it is, and whether a new part or a new key is needed. A daytime apartment opening is not the same job as a 3am car with every key lost.

We quote on the phone before setting off, and that number does not change on arrival without your agreement. If the situation turns out to be different from what was described, we stop and re-agree rather than continuing and handing you a surprise.

Do you speak English?Yes. The owner worked over 20 years in the United States, so the whole job from the first phone call to the final price is handled in English.

I locked the keys in my rental car. Can you open it without damage?Yes. Opening a car properly does not damage it. We do it on the spot, wherever the car is parked, and you will not need a broken window or a tow.

I lost the only key to my rental car. What now?A replacement key can usually be cut and programmed at the vehicle, including chip and remote keys. Bring the vehicle registration document and proof you are the authorised driver, which for a rental means the rental agreement and your ID.

How fast can you get to me?Fifteen to thirty minutes across most of the city, depending on the municipality and traffic. We give you a realistic time on the phone rather than promising something we cannot meet.

Do you work at night and on Sundays?Yes, 24 hours a day including Sundays and public holidays. The night rate is higher and you are told before we set off.

Are you licensed?North Macedonia has no state licensing for locksmiths, so nobody in this country can honestly claim to be a licensed locksmith. What we offer instead is over 20 years of experience and a price agreed before the work starts.
